Dear Rebetzin. I found your writngs to be so informative anduplifting . Your love of your faith is plain for all who meet you in one way or another to feel.I saw your photograph on your blog and you are not only inspiring but a beautiful mother and grandmother who is proud of all she stands for. My name is Arlene I too am Jewish and I too am proud of my faith. here the similarity ends. I do not keep a kosher home - - my daughter does it is too expensive, sadly I am not a member of a synagogue it is too expensive but my children and their children are. I am not frum, but I believe in everything jewish that matters. My children and I alternate every friday to have a shabbas family and friends dinner... every shabbas.it is a special evening ,shabbas is more important than Yom Kippur or any of the High Holy Days in my way of thinking. before I came to Live in Australia, my husband and i had a very successful business for some 40 years. We arrived in this country by the grace of Hashem with very little of our former life. A member of our family had decided to try and start a business and asked us to join in before we knew it we were up to our ears in their debt and it took all our hard earned savings to over come this obstacle Hashem was carrying us thats for sure, before in the old country we belonged to the shul where we got married. I was a regular shul goer I felt my self grow as i stood and sang with the choir or listened to our wonderful chazan. I was happy Rabbi was someone who I spoke to one on one often he was a very wise man and had great respect for my father of blessed memory. The Rebetzin was my friend i miss them, but i never tolf them something so deep in my heart and if you have the time or the inclination I would love to be able to talk to you about certain incidents that happened in my family that were to late for me to act on. I would like to know from a Jewish point of view how certain matters can be explained and then dealt with. Perhaps you might be the person whom I should open up to.?? Nothing happened to me it is how various incidents have affected me in my life and in my senior years. My name is Arlene I live in Australia and I was browsing about the red string when I came across your blog and decided to log into it. I am glad I did.
